Mazda CX-5 – Available Now
In May the all-new Mazda CX-5 went on sale in the UK. It is the first car to be designed, engineered and built using Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology, offering guests an enjoyable and fun driving experience as well as solid environmental credentials.
The range of SKYACTIV technologies allows Mazda to build petrol and diesel cars that deliver class leading fuel consumption and CO2 emissions without compromising performance or handling. This significantly reduces the cost of motoring for guests and responds to the environmental needs that are now a key factor in choosing a new car.
Designed fresh from the ground up, Mazda threw out the rule book and made each element of the vehicle lighter yet stronger – enhancing its fuel effi ciency and safety. The result is class-leading engines and a bodyshell made with high tensile steel that is lighter than its competitors yet sits on a 2,700mm wheelbase to provide more space than its rivals.
With the 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel engine (150ps), CX-5 returns 61.4mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 119g/km of CO2. The petrol model is a 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G (165ps), which offers an excellent 47.0mpg combined and only 139g/km of CO2. Further enhancing its overall performance, the CX-5 comes equipped with Mazda’s startstop system, a choice of two- or all-wheel drive and either a six-speed MANUAL or AUTOMATIC transmissions – depending on the model.
Prices for the CX-5 start from just £21,395 (OTR) and rise to £28,795 (OTR). Like the rest of the Mazda range, the all-new SUV is well specified, with available equipment including a Sanyo TomTom sat nav, an advanced safety system with automatic braking to prevent low speed collisions, lane departure warning, blind spot alerts and an automatic main beam function. The CX-5 also comes with a choice of two new body colours – Sky Blue Mica and Zeal Red Mica.
