The Perfect Wedding Present

Bridegroom Paul Bottomley presented a surprise wedding gift to his newlywed wife on their wedding day with the help of Bolton Motorpark – a new white Fiat 500.

Mr Bottomley made the purchase at Motorparks Fiat & Mazda in Bolton. Sales associate, John , helped organise the lovely surprise of the Fiat 500 1.2 Lounge in Bossanova White with pop cloth in red with ivory.

The purchase was made in secret and with the help of the Sales Associate at Bolton, who then delivered the 500 to the wedding venue, Higher Trapp Hotel, Burnley, Lancashire, where the vehicle was presented to Suzanne Bottomley complete with a huge pink ribbon, immediately after taking their wedding vows.

Mrs Bottomley was over the moon with her wedding gift – it came as a complete shock to her.

A Thank You card arrived at Bolton Motorpark together with a wedding photo of the happy newlyweds saying “Thank you for making our day so special, it went down a treat, from Paul and Suzanne”.

Another satisfied customer at Bolton Motorpark – ‘we are happy we could be part of their special day’.

New Aston Martin V12 S Model

Our three Grange Aston Martin businesses within Cambria have been fortunate enough to be able to demonstrate the latest and most extreme car in the Vantage range – the V12 ‘S’. A car that is an unprecedented engineering achievement, combining a V12 engine with their lightest sports car, has resulted in a package of pure aggression; 15kg lighter than the V12 Vantage with 573PS of power pushing the car to a top speed of 205 mph making it the fastest production model Aston Martin have ever produced. Further enhancing the desirability of the car is the new seven-speed AMT transaxle gearbox specifically designed to tap the potency of the V12 Vantage ‘S’. With advanced light-touch paddleshifts, the gearbox provides motorsport engineering and race car capability giving maximum driver control to the road user. You would be disappointed if the new car, with this amount of power, did not have increased agility and ‘stopability’. This is achieved through a three-stage adaptive damping system, all new carbon ceramic brakes and a unique track- mode with delayed ABS.

Extreme performance matched with extreme styling, bold new carbon fibre roof, grille and graphic packs, lightweight forged alloys, all new interior finishes and controls – never opulent but always dramatic, the V12 ‘S’ is without doubt the most ferocious Aston Martin ever produced.

As if the Vantage V12 ‘S’ wasn’t enough, Aston Martin have also launched the ultimate convertible, their best Volante ever – the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. Proportion, presence, purity, every guest who has seen the latest car agrees that Vanquish Volante delivers the most beautiful body shape in its class, with all new aerodynamically tuned decklid and tonneau, new full height windscreen where the glass directly meets the roof. Powered by the AM11 V12 engine, producing 573PS and acceleration of 4.1secs, this is the quickest accelerating Volante Aston Martin have produced, it’s also the stiffest with a body that maintains all the dynamic agility of the Coupe. It doesn’t stop there; Vanquish Volante is the most technologically innovative convertible. The three layer lightweight fabric roof takes just 14 secs to fold, operating at up to 30 mph. The 1000W Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system monitors and adapts to the roof being open or closed, added to which the boot loading has more than 50% higher capacity that the DBS Volante.

Combining 100 years of Power, Beauty & Soul, as beautiful inside as it is out, the Vanquish Volante sets a new standard in craftsmanship for its class, Aston Martin’s ultimate convertible is your design statement.

New Citroen C4 Picasso available at Swindon Motor Park now

The Citroen C4 Picasso Launch on 26th July was a great success here at Swindon Motor Park. Over 25 guests came in to see the new Citroen and we secured 6 orders for September. All of the guests were impressed with the space inside the car.  Mr Canning referred to it as “like the Tardis” in Dr Who.

Since the launch weekend, the C4 Picasso has been on display at Sainsbury’s, allowing shoppers to see the car, sit in it and book appointments to test drive. The response has been great!

On the road the C4 Picasso is incredibly refined. The ride quality over all types of road surface is excellent and it is a superb long-distance companion. There is no question that the C4 Picasso is one of the most comfortable mid-size MPVs. The dashboard is split into two screens: a large central one that acts as a speedo and rev counter and can be personalised by the driver and a smaller touch screen lower down for the stereo, SatNav and ventilation controls.

Elsewhere there are massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, extended windscreen and airline seat-style foot rests. On the more practical side there are 16 storage areas around the cabin, a larger 630-litre boot and three individual rear seats (meaning three separate Isofix mountings when most traditional hatchbacks have only two). Much of the above has been seen before but together they help to make driving with the family that much easier.
The C4 Picasso is a desirable, grown-up and practical MPV choice.

If you would like a test drive call us now on 0844 248 8405. The Citroen C4 Picasso is available at Swindon Motor Park here now.

Volvo V40 safest new car ever tested by European NCAP

Volvo V40

One of the safest cars ever built will not be sold in the United States. The Euro NCAP, similar to our National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, put the all-new 2013 Volvo V40 through a battery of crash tests and found that it is one of the safest cars it has tested.

The Euro NCAP’s testing consists of cars being tested in four categories (adult occupant, child occupant, pedestrian and safety assist) for vehicle safety, and the V40 drove (or more likely was towed) away with some of the top scores the agency has ever handed out. The 98 percent adult occupant rating is the highest result recorded by the Euro NCAP, while the car’s innovative pedestrian airbag helped it receive an equally impressive 88-percent rating for pedestrian safety. This safety device is actually an airbag underneath the hood, and when contact with a pedestrian is detected, the airbag inflates, raising the rear portion of the hood which helps to cushion the a person’s head or body as it makes contact with the car.

The Volvo V40 was perfect in the safety assist category thanks to systems like Pedestrian Detection, City Safety, auto braking and numerous other active safety features. The only knock that the V40 took was to child occupant protection. Its 75-percent rating is one of the lowest of the recent batch of tested cars, which also includes the Audi A3, Kia Cee’d and Ford B-Max.

In addition to being one of the safest Volvos produced so far, the V40 is also one of the best-looking Volvo models ever. We already had a chance to sample the new V40 back in June, and we were impressed with the car and what it could do to bolster Volvo’s U.S. lineup. Still, Volvo has stated that it has no intentions of selling its new compact hatchback here, despite the growth of the premium small car segment in this market.

Apprentice of the year | Grange Jaguar Swindon

Grange Jaguar Swindon

There’s something in the service water at Grange Jaguar

Grange, the Jaguar Automotive Dealership in Swindon, has always been a supporter in the investment of youth and has a history of recruiting and producing high quality, apprentice trained vehicle technicians.

So it came as little surprise that their employee, Scott Sheriden, won the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at a recent ceremony celebrating the best young talent in the Motor Industry.

Having completed his three year Jaguar Land Rover apprenticeship with Grange, Scott, along with the other apprentices in the region that passed the course, was entered in to the Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by City Guilds.

The candidates were subjected to a series of rigorous questions in round one regarding the technology and diagnostic equipment used in modern Jaguars.

Scott excelled in this round and was subsequently entered into the final round where he had to undergo a series of practical assessments and make a presentation on a subject of his choice.

Having impressed the technical trainers with his practical skills, Jaguar Land Rover’s Training Manager, Dr Adrian Birch, was particularly complementary on Scott’s presentation on diesel particulate filters.

On Sunday the 30th September, Scott, accompanied by his Service Manager, Paul Titheradge who himself has completed a Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship Scheme, attended the final’s presentation evening along with the six other finalists.

Scott was awarded the title ‘Apprentice of the Year 2012’ and was presented with £6,000 worth of Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic equipment for his service department to the delight of his colleagues and Grange’s customers.

Scott’s Service Manager, Paul Titheradge commented

“I’ve seen Scott progress from a shy 16 year old school leaver into a confident young man and think he has a very bright future”. |
